Steven D. Baxley moved to the North Beach church of Christ in August 2008, after having worked as an evangelist in the Czech Republic for 16 years.  His work in that country was mostly centered in Eastern Bohemia, around the cities of Hradec Králové, and Litomyšl, where he established two congregations (which later merged into one).  While in Europe, he had opportunity to visit with Christians living not only in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but also in Hungary (Budapest and Kunszentmarton), Romania (Bucharest), Germany (Grafenwoehr), and Italy (Udine, Trieste, and Pisa).

Steven grew up mostly in Irving, Texas.  He was baptized into Christ by his father in 1980.  His early years as a Christian were spent at the East Irving church of Christ.

He received the Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Dallas in 1992.

While living in the Czech Republic, Steven served as chairman of the School Board of the Horní Jelení Elementary School from 2005-2008.  He also worked part-time teaching ESL to students at Emil Holub High School in Holice, Czech Republic (2003-2008).

Steven is married to Ivana (Hladíková) Baxleyová, a native of Tyniště nad Orlicí, Czech Republic. Ivana received her Masters of Education from the University of Hradec Králové in 1995.  They have three children: Anna-Sarah (b. 1998), Adela-May (b. 2000) and Samuel (b. 2003).

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
